Client Interview with Tara Raymundo, Executive Wedding Producer
Take a moment to read this before hiring Tara Raymundo and the Jour L’Amour team.
How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a Wedding Planner?
I opened Jour L’Amour in August 2011, but my experience, passion, and obsession started long before that. I got engaged in 2007 and became obsessed with shows like Say Yes to the Dress and websites like The Knot. After planning my own wedding, I just couldn’t let it go, so I enrolled in the QC School of Wedding Planning to get my International Wedding Planning Professional certification. Then, I landed my dream internship with Green Lily Weddings. Armed with tons of knowledge and experience, I decided to go after yet another dream and open my own planning firm.
I love your services and your portfolio. Can you tell me what sets you apart from other Wedding Planners in the area?
I specialize in creating customized weddings that are a reflection of who you and your fiancé are as a couple. It is my philosophy that each wedding should be as unique as each couple. I make this happen by getting to know you, creating a customized concept around you, and designing an inspiration board so I can make sure we stay focused so that your wedding day is a genuine reflection. My weddings look polished and pulled together and my couples and their families are thrilled at the final result. Additionally, you can find more on my goals, philosophy, and philanthropy on our About page.
Who do you work best with?
I have found the best results come from clients who are open-minded, honest, and punctual. We are a team and during the months leading up your wedding we will need to work closely on every aspect and it is my belief that we should both enjoy that process.
Who is not going to benefit from your help?
Those who are habitually non-responsive, late, or constantly make excuses make it difficult for me to bring together all the elements and may not get the best results. In short, you have to help me help you.
Will I lose control of my wedding if you’re planning it for me?
Absolutely not. I present you with inspiration, tips, and expert advice so that you can make the most informed decisions. My role is to guide you and be a sounding board, and sometimes a shoulder to cry on. We are a team and together we will create something special and, dare I say, magical!
Will you work with the vendors I’ve already found?
Of course! Finding vendors that you work well with is of the utmost importance and I will gladly work with any professionals you choose. I also pride myself on building solid relationships with various wedding vendors and can refer you to any remaining vendors you need that fit your personality, style, and budget.
What happens if you are unable to make it to my wedding?
Surely this is every Bride's worst fear, but let me reassure you that I have never missed a wedding I was hired to plan or coordinate. I respect my clients and cherish the privilege of being such an integral part of this important time in your life. Everything I do is to build strong relationships with my clients and maintain a pristine reputation.
Though we do not have full-time Planners and Coordinators on staff (yet), we do have a close network of professionals who assist us on every wedding. There are a lot of other planning firms in the area who bring in interns to assist them, but I want to offer my clients Assistant Coordinators who bring experience and polished professionalism to their special day. The week before each wedding we all meet to go over the timeline, every detail, back-up plants, etc. so that we are all on the same page. If, God forbid, something happens to me, they will be able to execute every detail to perfection in my absence.
This all sounds so wonderful, but it sounds expensive. How can I afford this?
While we do offer the highest caliber service with an exquisite final product, we do want to make as many dreams come true as possible, so we offer monthly specials on our Facebook page to help. In addition, we do customize our packages so that you get exactly what fits your needs, personality, and budget.
Do you take credit cards and is there a payment plan?
I do accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, & Discover) via my mobile card reader. A 50% deposit is required to hold your date and the final payment is due 30 days before your wedding date. I will work with you if you need to discuss other payment options.
Do you take more than one wedding per day?
It is important to me to completely focus on one Bride and Groom per day. In fact, at this time I have decided not to book more than one all-inclusive wedding per month so that I am entirely dedicated to your wedding. With Jour L’Amour, you get personalize attention from the time you book us to the bon voyage!
This sounds like everything I’ve been looking for. What’s the next step?
